It wasn't raining in Warsaw at all, the weather was very
nice, but it was very cold. Although the show was to begin
at 9 PM, there were lots of fans at 4 PM near the Legia
stadium. Deep Purple were in Warsaw for the first time,
too.
They entered the stage a few minutes after nine and the
fans got crazy, even before the band started to play. The
list of the songs was the same, but they played them a
little differently, so we had the time of our life
again. The stadium was full of excitement!
We sang "Happy Birthday" to Ian Paice, and some
time later we heard "Sto lat".
We saw he was very happy and surprised. I think another
birthday cake was prepared for him in Warsaw as
well:))).
Don must have recognized us because he throw us a
towel. Zenek caught it, but some fans wanted take it
away. They didn't manage though they turned him over. He
fought bravely, I'd never seen him so brave before!
Ian's condition didn't get worse at all. It even got
better because he added something else to his karate kicks
and swinging the mic: he imitated a car. We saw he loved
the Warsaw people; he shouted we were
fantastic. unbelievable etc., as he did in Szczecin. We
all were delighted and sang almost all songs with him. I
only missed "Walk on", "Sun Goes Down"
and "The Purpendicular Waltz" I'm afraid they
don't play these songs at gigs at all.
In general, the gig was awesome again. We'd like to see
the band next year, in Warsaw, in Szczecin, in Katowice or
somewhere else. See you next time, Ian, Don, Paicey,
Roger, Steve. You were fantasic.
